in April 2018, Stefanie Yuen Thio became an independent director of Singapore Medical Group. She held no equity interest in SMG then.

11 June 2019: She made her maiden purchase. 100,000 shares, @ 39.5 cents.

Perhaps she had been patiently waiting for a bargain while learning more about the business!

Singapore Medical Group, at 3-year low.


End-August, Tony Tan bought 269,100 shares (30 cents)
130,900 shares (28 cents).


The CEO, Dr Beng Teck Liang, bought 100,000 shares (28.5 cents).

This is a rare time in the stock mrket and there are stocks that have regained ground. Who's buying? Think of it this way -- A majority of the people who are losing their jobs are in the hospitality, F&B, aviation industries. Many are average earners who typically do not invest in the stock market.

People who generally invest in the stock market still have their jobs. They have portfolios that have taken a hit but there are good stocks that are "cheap" and they can decide to put money into them. Good luck everyone!
