Which stocks posted gains over past year, have single-digit PEs and double-digit ROEs?

If you are a value investor, there are established metrics that you look for in search of "good" stocks. Courtesy of a new SGX article, we know of over 40 Singapore-listed stocks that posted price gains over the past year, maintain single-digit P/E ratios and double-digit ROEs. Such stocks would be of less interest to you if they were illiquid -- and there are many. Then there are the most traded stocks of the cohort over the past 5 weeks -- Singapore Airlines, Geo Energy Res, Golden Agri, Food Empire, TJ DaRenTang, Valuetronics, Marco Polo Marine, Ley Choon, Bumitama Agri and Stamford Land. Adding to their liquidity attractiveness, Golden Agri, Food Empire, TJ DaRenTang, Bumitama Agri are currently trading below their consensus estimate target prices. ​​​​​​​

That's not all -- another metric to consider is book value.

Just over half of the 40-plus stocks are also trading below their book value, and from a dividend perspective, three in four of the stocks maintain indicative dividend yields averaging 5.0%.
