Based on observation of other counters in similar situation, usually the drop is more than the dividend rate in the first one or two trading days of ex-div.
CSE has fallen too much post-special dividend. Touched 61 cents yesterday . If + 28cent special dividend => 89 cents pre-special div.
If CIMB is right, the upcoming final div is 2.5 cents = 4.1% yield. It's not v strong for new investors but very good for longer-term holders as the would have collected 1.5 c interim + 28 cents special.
On top of the special dividend, we expect a final ordinary DPS of 2.5Scts, potentially taking its full-year ordinary DPS to 4Scts, more or less in line with its 40% payout guidance from core earnings.
