it\'s no surprise that the market is correcting as there are \"enough\" reasons for it to do so : 1. the lastest rally started way back from april 2009 2. european debt crisis 3. historically, market trading volume thin off considerably ahead of and during world cup i personally thinks that the earlier to relook is around early to mid july. by then the market would have showed some short term stability and when the world cup ends, trading interest may pick up again, plus of course, traders will be gearing up again ahead of the reporting season for 2Q2010 so sit back and enjoy world cup for the time being ;)

dear streamyx88: i am sure the markets will surprise again & again. on the positive side, there are many reasons for the market to spike up and rally for a stretch of time. a) market bashed down too fast too much. b) fear/panic over Euro crisis overdone. c) Global economic recovery may be better than statistics so far show. hehehe....good luck. The best thing is to pick up stocks that look grossly undervalued and just hang on to them.

Mobius & Templetom see bull market: “Despite the fact that a lot of people think that we are entering into a bear market, we don’t believe so,” said Mark Mobius, who oversees about $34 billion in emerging markets as Templeton Asset Management Ltd.’s Singapore-based executive chairman. “This is a correction in an ongoing bull market.” Mobius’s optimism is shared by Traxis Partners LP’s Barton Biggs, who said U.S. stock markets are oversold and may have a “big pop” over the next few days. Speculation that Europe’s sovereign debt crisis will spread has wiped out about $5.7 trillion in global stock market value this month even as Asian economies show signs of recovery.

Some people must be immune to the market fall .....the bugger has US$2.63 m to spend on a lunch!!!! :woohoo: Buffett Lunch Sells for Record $2.63 Million; Winner Anonymous June 12 (Bloomberg) -- Warren Buffett’s lunch auction rose to a record of $2.63 million in the 11th annual charity fundraiser. That’s about 24 percent higher than the previous record, set in 2008 when hedge-fund manager Zhao Danyang of Hong Kong paid $2.11 million. The chance to have lunch with the celebrated billionaire investor drew nine bidders and 77 bids, according to EBay Inc. The online auction started June 6 and ended at 10:30 p.m. New York time yesterday. The winning bidder wishes to remain anonymous, according to Denise Lamott, a spokeswoman for the auction beneficiary, the Glide Foundation in San Francisco. Buffett, the 79-year-old investor who is chairman and chief executive officer of Berkshire Hathaway Inc., has raised about $8.56 million with the auctions
