Keeping my fingers crossed that Techcomp will deliver! The stock price has held up as investors accumulate the shares. At 39 cents, mmmmmm, not affected by correction in recent weeks. At 39, still a long way down from 70+ cents in 2008. Somewherre ard that price. CCant remember too precisely. Anyway, interesting to revisit article by Ernest Lim . Clearly a value investor, banking on the fundamentals pushing the stock price up. www.nextinsight.net/content/view/1971/79/

Very good news! TECHCOMP this morning said: • Net profit for 2009 jumped 139.4% to US$7.4m with higher margin manufacturing segment outpacing the distribution segment’s growth • Revenue up 29.3% to US$104.8m due to increasing demand from Asia and new contributions from HCC Group (acquired in 2H2009) • Recommends dividend of 1.2 Sing cents and 1-for-2 bonus share issue to reward shareholders • Expands European footprint with CHF3.5 million acquisition of a 80% stake in Precisa Gravimetrics, a leading Swiss maker of analytical weighing and moisture analysers

The 2nd Half net profit was US$6 m, compared to US$1.4 in the 1H. Once again, Techcomp has demonstrated that its 2H is where the money is, so not to worry too much about 1H results. The stock today has crept up, to 45 cents, but cant fly cos of low liquidity. Specifically, not enough sellers. :(

Ah, Techcomp is giving 1 for 2 bonus issue. High time they did it to improve the liquidity. Trading this morning is a bit slow, cos of not enuff sellers, altho the stock is up 2.5 cents. Now at 44.5 cents. Might close at 46 cents if the CEO meets analysts and fund managers today to brief them & excite them.......

The stock now at 44.5 cents is a good reward to those who recognised the stable, growing nature of the business. My friends ask: Techcomp can handle the Ang Mo acquisitions or not? HK companies like Techcomp buying into European businesses face challenges like telling the Ang Mos what to do, how to strategise?
