Ng Ser Miang is a well-known figure mainly for his immense contribution to Singapore sports. It is not in business that he has achieved recognition. I think Tecity is looking for a more intense involvement and contribution from whoever sits as chairman of WBL.
So, in a rare case of corporate chopping, Tecity (and Aberdeen) has unceremoniously voted Ng Ser Miang off the board yesterday.
This is a good example for other major shareholders at other companies. There would be more coming up, I guess, when the next AGM season rolls around. Who could be next?
