Hi Janice and other guests, Hopefully, we will end up with more than 10% of shareholders rejecting the offer. Then we can press the Board (especially the independent directors) to raise the offer price. In this manner, the serious and loyal shareholders are not left completely in the lurch.

SGX should check and investigate with all the independent directors why these S-Chips are artificially down.Blaming on the financial scandals is a lame excuse. Nobody will throw their shares at artificially low price. Why do the independent directors not doing anything to see the share prices being supported as they hold half the voting power and the S-Chips are flushed with money. With so much of cash some of the S-chips with just spending 5% of the cash haul the price of the shares can be brought back to normal price. The big scam is not the financial scandal but bringing the prices of the shares artificially down through proxies. That's wht i think about Synear Food,Kingboard etc.The financial scandal is just an excuse for them to push the price down so that the majority shareholders can delist or buy the shares on the cheap. They still get their director fees no matter what is the share price.

If the management is sincere they will not allow the share price to drop so much.

I agree that stock exchanges can be doing more to protect shareholders particularly before listing approval but I think some people here are getting overly emotional because they are sitting on big losses on Synear Food over the last few years.
Before you unfoundedly accuse the management of pushing down the share price, and shout about how Synear is undervalued, ask yourselves what has happened to the net profit over the last few years. In 2007 net profit was 475 million RMB, in 2011 it was a mere 6.5 million RMB, giving it a trailing P/E of over 200. Now I know the company's earnings have improved somewhat this year but it is still a small fraction of what it was a few years ago. If any company's profit dropped by 100 times, as Synear's did from 2007 till 2011, you can bet it would have a significant effect on its share price.
Synear's prospects in 2007 were way better than what they are now, and that's a major reason why the share price has dropped this much. If you want you can blame the management for poor management in allowing earnings to drop so much - fair enough, but to accuse them of artificially pushing down the share price is ludicrous.
At a time where even top banks in china are trading at P/E of 5, you want to shout so loud that Synear is undervalued at a trailing P/E of over 200.
Face it the company you have invested in has simply done atrociously over the last few years, allowing net profit to drop by 100 times. Couple this with the horrible performances of China stocks over the last few years and this is what you get.
Don't look so indignant, there are shareholders of far better, far more undervalued Chinese companies out there who have far more reason to be disappointed than you. If Synear was a mistake, take the offer which is at least significantly higher than its share price a few months ago and move on, there are many other better undervalued Chinese companies out there.
The sense of entitlement of some people here amazes me. Shit happens. Look at Nokia in Finland - are we going to blame to Finnish stock exchange for their demise over the last few years? Are we going to blame the NYSE for Lehman Brother's Collapse? Are we going to blame the Nikkei for Japan Airline's collapse a few years ago? In investment there is risk, if your company's net profit drops by 100 times you can't expect the share price to be the same.

I am not vested in Synear Foods, i am using this as an example to speculate how this China management works. There are China companies that are highly profitable n very low PE and yet the share price is dropping everyday. How are u to explain for this. I dont want to name the companies, but i know many who are here will know what are the companies that i am talking about. If the management is sincere they can buy back the shares especially when they have large cash haul. i really think that this china management can do something about this. Look at companies like serial, hotung they are penny stocks and the companied do regular share buyback.this is theleast the management can do.Pls dont support this unscrupulous china men because of whom many retain investors hv their life savings burnt. They just damn selfish and thieves.

The management can do much more to support the share price. For example, dividend payment, share buy-back, more disclosure etc. Yes, profitability is a big factor in determining the share price, but even then, the manaagement has to be responsible for the poor performance.
