i was reading the NextInsight report on top S-chip picks by CIMB-GK, and wanted to see how the stocks have performed. The original table is here: except for Celestial, the stocks have indeed performed decently. zaino: 48 cents ferrochina: $1.40 china sky: 84 cents fibrechem: 64 cents Sinotech fibre: 57 cents Looking at the upside targets in the table, i think there may be longer term rewards. U agree? fyi, the article link is here: www.nextinsight.net/content/view/473/60/

investsgx.blogspot.com/2008/08/hot-stock.html Last Friday afternoon, we have received The Edge one day earlier when the market is still open due to National Day. If we have followed the technical analysis in ‘Hot Stock’ and invest according to the lead, how our portfolio will perform now? Title: No Olympic play for S-Chip The hit rate is 6 out of 6!

Market never respond the way that man has wanted it to. Mr Market has a mind of its own. Just this morning, a broker called me and told me to buy for the post-Olympic run-up? I asked him where did he get his information from? He told me his trusty fellow broker told him and his friend got it from another friend.... If enough people believe this so-called news, the market could jolly well enjoy a rebound. Anyway, he suggested the PRC consumer stocks, which he said are dirt cheap. If got time, I would probably do a comparison of the PRC consumer stocks and see whether cheap can get cheaper or not? :)

Just look at the damage done to this highly recommended companies. zaino: 48 cents (21 cents) ferrochina: $1.40 (RIP) china sky: 84 cents (0.185 cents) fibrechem: 64 cents (0.175 cents) Sinotech fibre: 57 cents (0.15 cents) I wonder what the analyst have to say now about his reco. Bargains of the century or a minefield? One of those mines (Ferrochina) blew up. Of the five only Zaino seems to be the safer bet. Well only time can tell but it\'s gone beyond fundamental valuation models of PE, NTA, NCA, business moat, etc. As long as it has a China link...there all bad according to Mr. Market.
