ISDN Holdings has been Singapore-listed for the past 25 years but investors may not be familiar with its business.

chart7.25Think of it as a behind-the-scenes provider of the tech that makes factories smarter, robots more precise, and supply chains smoother across Asia.

Recently, ISDN announced two exciting developments: a new partnership with Japan's Harmonic Drive Systems Inc. (HDSi) and an expansion of its ties with global giant Schneider Electric.

These moves aren't just corporate handshakes—they could spell big wins for ISDN.

The first one:  Through its subsidiary Servo Dynamics, ISDN is now selling Harmonic's high-tech gear in key Asian markets like Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand.

Harmonic specializes in "strain wave gearing," which is basically super-accurate components that help machines move smoothly and precisely.

Industrial robots rely on these gears for smooth, accurate movements. As factories go "smart" with Industry 4.0, demand for harmonic drives is booming—helping robots in semiconductors, automotive, and electronics production.

Imagine robots in factories assembling tiny parts without a hitch, or medical devices performing delicate surgeries.

This tech is crucial for booming industries like robotics, aerospace, and advanced manufacturing.

ISDN's MD, Teo Cher Koon, called it a "strategic partnership" that combines Harmonic's global expertise with Servo Dynamics' strong Asian network.

ISDN already serves over 10,000 customers in high-growth sectors like semiconductors and clean energy.

By teaming up with Harmonic, ISDN gains access to premium products that could attract more clients and boost sales.

Asia's automation market is exploding—think China's push for smart factories and Southeast Asia's manufacturing hubs.

"The companies will proactively pursue new business opportunities in these regions, targeting an increase of over JPY 2 billion in sales by fiscal year 2030," according to ISDN's press release

The second development is even more hands-on: ISDN is deepening its collaboration with Schneider Electric to roll out "smart warehouse" systems.

These are like futuristic storage facilities where everything—from inventory tracking to robot-picked orders—runs on autopilot, powered by cloud tech and AI.

The announcement follows Schneider Electric's visit on 18 July 2025 to a 3PL Smart Warehouse facility designed, built and delivered by ISDN subsidiaries as a complete solution.

During the visit, ISDN showcased its latest Smart Warehouse Systems, already deployed in multiple warehouses in Asia, delivering transformative results including:

• ~50% increase in warehouse productivity
• ~91% reduction in stocktaking time (from 1 month to 24 hours)
• 33% reduction in inventory manpower
• Near-perfect order accuracy

ISDN just landed a massive contract for a 3.9 million sq m Smart Industrial Park in China's Jiangsu Province.

Mr Teo highlighted how customers want "full-stack" solutions that integrate everything from software to hardware.

Schneider's East Asia president, Xing Jian Pang, echoed this, emphasizing robust supply chains in a post-pandemic world.

Mr Teo Cher Koon, Managing Director and President, ISDN Holdings, said:

TeoCherKoon619a “As automation technology advances in Asia, we’re seeing a clear ‘compression’ of the technology stack. Customers are increasingly looking for fully-built, bespoke applications like the Smart Warehouse System that integrate the entire stack of technology from cloud operations to mechanical automation. ISDN is partnering with global technology leaders like Schneider Electric to deliver and prove the benefits of these advanced systems throughout Asia. We’re proud to deliver critical technology that powers the future of smart logistics.”
