1. Not too out of the way..... Habuka is a village in the Japanese North Alps in Nagano Prefecture.

By bus, it is only about five hours from Narita Airport. Check out this site  for more information on the bus service.

You can also catch a train from Narita to Tokyo to Nagano - and then hop on a bus.

2. Undiscovered gem: Habuka has been a popular tourism destination for Japanese for a long time and is recently becoming more well-known outside of Japan.

Surrounded by mountains, the location receives huge amounts of snow fall and boasts of excellent skiing facilities. Many of the main skiing events in the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics were held on the slopes in and around Hakuba.

Hakuba is not just about winter. During other seasons, the mountains provide opportunities for trekking and hiking.

For more leisurely activities, you can visit its botanical gardens, blueberry farms, shops selling traditional Japanese arts and crafts, ancient temples, museums, and restaurants.

Autumn offers a whole new experience as the mountains are transformed into a sea of red and gold. The views here are some of the best in Japan.

3. Cosy and affordable: Seventh Heaven is a cosy bed-and-breakfast – ideal for quality family time and for groups of friends and relatives. Seventh Heaven has rooms for 22 pax.

Depending on the season, rooom rates range from 4,750 to 6,850 yen (about S$73 to S$105) per person, inclusive of local taxes and Continental breakfast.

Outside of meal times, the dining room can be turned into a function room for discussion. There is a full-sized kitchen for guests to prepare meals if they desire to, or they can go to nearby eating places.

4. Others luv it: The best reason of all is, many a guest has enjoyed his/her stay in Seventh Heaven.

"We had an AWESOME time. It was exactly what we were wanting. Something that felt just like home and a place where we all can be together for the New Year. You and Daisuke were so helpful in many ways. Thank you!"  -- Sashalyn Carranza.

"People should know how much fun we all had and how hospitable you are! Once again, thank you for making my son's birthday, my friend’s birthday and our New Year one of the most fun times we have ever had." --- Christinna Kitchaiya.

The two ladies were part of 3 American families living in Tokyo who spent Dec 30 and New Year’s eve in Seventh Heaven. Among other things, the men had a great time snowboarding while the kids went sledding on gentler slopes.
